LEVELS (FUNK D BOOTLEG)

So by now everyone and their mother (and their father, their aunts & uncles, their grandparents, and their pet dog/cat/fish) has heard Avicii's monster hit "Levels". It's lead melody is just too damn poppy and happy to possibly resist. Even as someone who usually dislikes songs on the high commercial end of the spectrum, I love that song for it's pure pop music genius and undeniable lively spirit. Unfortunately, too much of a good thing is always bad, and "Levels" is on that brink. That brings my attention now to this bootleg. Familiar Dutch artist Funk D twists "Levels" on its head and brings it down to a dark progressive track with some typical Dutch-style tribal percussion parsed with only brief moments of the original's pop melody. It's an awesome change of pace for those getting sick of the original, and even those who never liked "Levels" to begin with would do well to give this track a listen. Seriously, it's bangin'. Haha. To download the track you have to go on Funk D's Facebook page and click the "Like" button. Then go to the "Bandpage" section, find the track in the music player, and you can download it from there. Sorry if that seems kind of roundabout, but that's how Funk D wants this promoted and I need to respect that. Enjoy and check out the rest of Funk D's stuff on his pages!

TOMMY TRASH

Tommy Trash has been on quite a tear recently with big tracks like "The End" and now his new remix of Moby's "After". The native of Sydney, Australia gives a unique blend of groove, bass, and bleeps to his tracks that makes them such monsters. Here we have a nice little mash-up from Tujamo that pits "The End" against "Babylon" by Congorock with a solid result. The songs compliment well and you're sure to enjoy it.

DON'T WANNA GO HOME

Bassanova & Moradzo have teamed up once again to bring us their usual dirty dutchness. This time they took on Jason Derulo's "Don't Wanna Go Home" and delivered hard. The vocals are well incorporated and the beat is big, fat, bass-heavy, and a guaranteed dancefloor killer. To be honest I've never even heard the original song haha but this bootleg is just dope as hell. Enjoy! Jason Derulo - Don't Wanna Go Home (Bassanova & Moradzo Bootleg)

DITSJZ

Earlier this month Toolroom Records put out its new compilation 'Amsterdam 2011' which includes this filthy filthy banger from Koen Groeneveld. It's got very techy bass and percussion with some crazy lead on the main beat that I can't really describe haha. The rest of the compilation is excellent as well. Here are some of the other names featured on the compilation: Mark Knight, John Dalhback, Alex Kenji, Stefano Noferini, Thomas Gold. The Alex Kenji track "Nine Apples" is particularly good. Very funky, classic house. So take a listen to "Ditsjz" above, and then grab yourself a copy of the FULL RELEASE cuz it's a monster.

THE PRO-STITUTE BOOTLEGS

Those of you familiar with 90s one-hit wonders will recognize this bootleg by The Pro-Stitute. For everyone else Snow was a white rapper from Canada who somehow had a Jamaican accent and he had one song that somehow got popular called "Informer". You'll like this bootleg though. It's got a strong kick with a big main beat. There are two other bootlegs here too that you should also enjoy. One is a chilled out moombahton version Sean Paul's "Got 2 Luv U" that's pretty nice but not the typical crazy style of moombahton. Good change of pace. Enjoy folks!

GREG ARMANO

Hey everyone. French producer/DJ Greg Armano sent me an email, and asked me to check out his tracks to share with you. I really like this remix he did of Katy Perry with a heavy dirty electro bassline and good use of the original's vocals. Take a listen and check out the rest of Greg's song over on Soundcloud where he's made them all available to download for free!
